Sextner Dolomiten / Dolomiti di Sesto Nature Park

The Sextner Dolomites can look back upon a long tradition of eminent visitors. The noblemen and aristocrats of the 19th Century were frequent guests, coming by train. The first mountain guides came from the Alta Pusteria Valley. Due to their unique geological circumstances, the limestone mountains surrounding Toblach/Dobbiaco, Sexten/Sesto, and Niederdorf/Villabassa are nature protection areas whose fame has spread throughout the world. Because of their bizarre appearance, the Haunold / Rocca dei Baranci, Dreischuster / Tre Scarperi, and Birkenkofel / Croda dei Baranci group, the "Eleven" group, the "Twelve" group, and especially the "Three Peaks" have won great prominence in international films.

We have grown up in these surroundings, and we know all of the best hiking trails, e.g. to the Höhlenstein Valley / Val di Landro, the Paternkofel / Monte Paterno, and to Lake Dürren / Lago di Landro. And don't forget to bring along your camera!
